Statistical Staturday Roe vs Wade

I have many mixed emotions about Roe vs. Wade.

What about you?

I’m a “statistic”, which means I’ve had an abortion. Maybe you have or know of someone. I write about teen pregnancy, challenges with pregnancy, and more in great detail in my new book “Statistically Speaking.” (https://py.pl/AMesnyCidMw)A teen or adult woman’s body goes through so much. Being a young teen or adult woman is a challenge to understand and learn about the body. At times our bodies can’t control God’s creation from conception to delivery changes.

Between the ages of 8 – 12 teens can start their menstrual period (Mother Nature or cycle more commonly as society refers). The menstrual period will happen at any time and place. The menstrual cycle sometimes can start later and for no known reason as well as menopause. A woman will experience menopause anywhere between the age of 45 and up depending on where she is in life. It is a fact during these times the female body will go through many different challenges and changes. As a matter of my experience during pregnancy, my body did not belong to me.

How was it for you?

I speak on this in great detail in my book “Statistically Speaking .” A teen’s and women’s bodies will endure MUCH to birth to a baby….this is a great sacrifice. Education, I speak on and what we need to do to educate men, women, and young girls, in addition to those who may be ignorant of what the teen or women’s body will go through, before, during, and after conception.

In many instances, the pregnancy can be life-threatening to a mother. I will share a little piece of my teen pregnancy story. Purchase a book for yourself, discuss it with family at dinner, or friends, or be open to learning more in my book “Statistically Speaking.” I speak on child delivery with my daughter at age 16. Yes, 16! My oxygen level kept dropping. This meant I was losing oxygen to my brain. Suddenly, my daughter’s heart stopped. My mother was there by my side. Remember, I was 16 and didn’t understand what was happening or why. I remember my mother saying to me Miko remember you can always have more children. My mother was concerned with me and my child I was caring. More important saving my life was important to both my mother and doctor. The dropping of my oxygen level was dangerous for me and my unborn child. I went through so many other health issues as a young pregnant girl. I thanked God then and today for our God’s favor in our outcome. Both I and my daughter are here today by God’s grace and mercy (place a scripture). However, I know someone else went through this and the scenario is different, that mother may not be here or that child may not be here.

Yes, at the end of the day……. it was my choice on what I could do……..

This week Roe vs. Wade I write with tears flowing and emotions as if I didn’t have a choice in my teens to have an abortion. I’m confident the 2022 decision took the United States backward. The 1973 Roe vs. Wade decision gave the right and lowered the death of women having abortions in unsafe conditions. This 2022 decision took that health rights as well as women’s rights away.

The human race should ask, how can someone tell women what they should do with their bodies?

I’ve had an abortion; I made a choice because of my individual circumstance not to have a baby after I had my daughter at 16. I was a young mother and became pregnant 2 years later adding more stress on my family to assist with helping me raise another child. I was a statistic! I had that right then. Today teens and women no longer have a choice to abortion for multiple reasons.

The Supreme Court took it away. What are you going to do about changing that decision?

As part of the human race, it is my right as an individual if I want to keep my child or not. I had the abortion, it was my decision and God will and is with me from then to now. I went through my own punishment within my own spirit, heart, and soul. These are hard choices for a teen family, married or unmarried women, and fathers to make with their unborn child’s mother.

It is not for someone else to dictate what we can do with a female’s body.

What are your thoughts on Roe vs. Wade 2022 decision?
